The inspiration for this massive constructivist chair does not come, perhaps a little surprisingly, from Tatlin's heavy-duty movement, but, on the contrary, from the lighter architecture of Japanese metabolists. Like Kurokawa's Nakagina Capsule Tower, whose interiors offer every comfort for the "singles," the Mein Universum provides a refuge in which one modulates the world to one's image. The basic raw and cool cage is gradually becoming a personal and safe space in the space. The answer to the question about the origin of amor vacui, or love of cramped spaces, can be found in German psychoanalysis, which refers to the safety of prenatal existence. And you probably can't disagree here.
